Dr. Rai graduated in Dentistry from the University of Toronto in 2001 after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia. She went on to complete a postgraduate residency program, in Colorado, where she focused on complex restorative rehabilitation (crown and bridge), gum surgery, difficult root canals and treating anxious and/or medically compromised patients.

Dr. Rai: “I began private practice in 2002 and am passionate about the oral health of my patients as well as with continuing education—keeping myself at the forefront of current methodology and technology. I strongly believe in preventive dentistry and routine check ups, as early detection is the key to a healthy and pain free mouth.

I have learned to identify patient concerns on an individual basis, with an emphasis on communication and a gentle approach. It is important to me that you have invested trust in me as your dentist and in return I strive to provide you with the best quality dentistry, specific to your individual needs and within your comfort level.

Over the years, I have met the most challenging needs of my patients—while expanding my skill set in the areas of cosmetic rehabilitation as well as complex restorative needs such as implants or full mouth crowns. In some cases—if your treatment involves interdisciplinary care such as I.V. sedation or multiple implants—I may collaborate with a specialist, with whom I always maintain an excellent rapport. My goal is to provide you with a healthy and pain free dentition so that you will always be happy with your smile and overall oral health.

In my spare time, I strive to maintain good health by running (Vancouver marathon) hiking and swimming. I also enjoy traveling, reading, photography and film. And I, along with my staff, very much enjoy hearing of the passions and hobbies of each of my patients.

I also enjoy mentoring younger peers and engaging with children. I have volunteered in Cambodia as a dental lecturer at the University in Phnom Penh and then went on to assist a rural pediatric dentist in treating local orphanage children. It was one of the most rewarding experiences in my career and I look forward to further opportunities, such as these, in the future.

Because going to the dentist can be unpleasant for some people, my primary concern is that each visit with us is a comfortable and empathetic experience for you. I invite you to visit our office, where we will also strive to see that your dental concerns are addressed to your satisfaction, within the highest standards.

We always welcome new patients. If it is your first visit, I look forward to meeting with you or if you are a returning patient, it will always be a pleasure to see you again.”
